The Unraveling Begins

“Iran postponed negotiations that were meant to begin in Switzerland on Friday….”  The reason?  “Fighting between Israel and Hezbollah….”  The lede that is buried? “The Israeli military said it struck ‘Hezbollah terrorist targets’ after the group fired over 50 projectiles at Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.”  And now you know why the MOU does not matter all that much.  The important things to note are that 1) Iran is backing away from it already and 2) Iran proxies created the conditions necessary to justify their backing away.  As everyone knew from the beginning, Iran are liars and had no intention of keeping their word.  Finally, note that everyone is trying to make Israel out to be the bad guy – they are not, they are defending themselves as they should.

The MOU was/is a political necessity because the American people would apparently rather have less expensive gas and let the liars, heck let’s call them what they are, genocidal/homicidal maniacs roam the earth.  We have gotten lost into the weeds of this war and forgotten how it started – the people of Iran protested government policy and the murderous regime that passes for that government responded by slaughtering roughly 40,000 of its own citizens.  And this event on the heels of one of the the most barbaric terrorist attacks in human history on October 7 – an attack carried out by yet another Iranian proxy.  These are not nice people we are dealing with here.

I wrote earlier this week about “Destroying The American Character.”  It was about how government poverty programs actually kill the charitable impulse in the populace.  Our unwillingness to pay the price to rid the world of the malevolence that is Iran is another sign of the destruction of that character.  Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends.”  Apparently we do not love enough to endure higher gas prices?

I’ll end the rant here before I get myself in serious trouble.

And now, the weekend Round-Up

Speaking of destroying the American character, how did our sports come to this?  Worse yet this?

The hideousness that is the Obama Center – not paying its bills and confusing the already very confused.

Then there is the reflecting pool.  Everyone wants to embarrass Trump about it.  I haven’t looked into it, but if you are looking for someplace to put blame – try looking at environmental regulation.  It is unlikely the materials that made the thing work to begin with are even legal now.

And finally, California.  The fire build-back is going exactly as everyone knew it would, even if no one wanted it that way.  But then maybe “The Big One” will let them try rebuilding – again.  California – disaster prone and no longer able to cope.  Now you know why I left.
