Hey Salty Lady

Another School Shooting…My Thoughts on Thoughts and Prayers

Friends, you’re going to hear the same chorus after every tragedy.
The same words. Different words.
No words that make it less horrible.

We argue about which side of our depravity to address first—
the broken family, the broken mind, the broken system.

We recycle talking points and hurl them at legislators.
But at some point we—you and me—have to get involved.

Start with Kids. Start Now.

Maybe it’s civic engagement, maybe it’s policy. But before that?
Get involved in the lives of kids around you.

Parents today raise children fully aware the world they inherit is painfully, violently lost.
We send them to schools praying they literally survive the week.

That means we need armies of adults—layer upon layer of support.
In homes. In schools. In churches.

Hey Church—This One’s on Us

The world does what the world does. Lost people act lost.

But the Bride of Christ has no excuse.
We know. We are commanded.

Making disciples isn’t a Starbucks Bible study for grown-ups.

–Shut down your adult classes.
–Go serve in youth and children until they don’t need you anymore.

“Be fed” was never the pinnacle of holy pursuits.
Feed my sheep. Feed my lambs.

What We Actually Need

  • Small groups so large they become smaller.
  • Kids on the edge noticed.
  • Families in crisis helped.
  • Youth discipled by senior adults, single adults, parents, and peers.
  • Parents supported by mature believers who speak truth into culture.
  • Kids who know their identity and purpose—salt and light on their campuses.

We don’t need finger-pointing.
We need discipling. Investing. Serving.

Thoughts and Prayers?

I’m so tired of hearing “thoughts and prayers aren’t enough.”
Usually from people who don’t pray—or do anything else.

But they’re half right. Thoughts aren’t enough.
Prayers + Obedience look entirely different.

Children Are a Blessing

Not an accessory.
Not a commodity.
Not an inconvenience.

A refining gift—meant to shape us as we shape them.

Instead, we’ve turned them into victims through our godless apathy.
Sacrificed on the altar of gender ideology and cultural confusion.

Call It What It Is

It was wickedness from the start.
We didn’t need proof, data, or “time to tell.”
Anything that defies God’s authority aims to steal, kill, and destroy.

The church had enough information to respond in wisdom and unity.
And didn’t.

A Better Action Step: Repentance

Every solution offered so far has failed.
So here’s a radical one: repentance.

Fall on our faces before God for the culture our complacency bought us.
Stop running from His Word, His way, His will.

Because wickedness will always find a way—with or without a weapon.
But so will the Lord.

Bow broken—or be broken.
Take your pick.
