More than 60 people who say they knew Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in high school on Wednesday fired off a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee in support of Kavanaugh.
The Hill reports the letter, sent to Republican Chuck Grassley and Democrat Dianne Feinstein, called the latest allegation that Kavanaugh was present at a high school party where there was a gang rape is "nonsense."
Those allegations were leveled by Julie Swetnick through her lawyer Michael Avenatti. Michael Bidwill, president of the Arizona Cardinals is one of the signers of the letter.
Bidwell and the others say they knew Kavanaugh in high school and called the allegation “reprehensible,” adding that Kavanaugh “always treated women with respect and decency."
