President Trump’s reported pick for the White House’s “immigration czar,” Kris Kobach, told Fox Business that the border crisis can be solved quickly in “three major steps.”
Kobach says the first step is to publish a regulation which defines how U.S. officials can detain families in order to reduce the incentives for people to bring children.
He also said instead of selling the thousands of empty mobile homes that the U.S. owns, deploy them, along with immigration judges to border cities and create “processing towns.”
Third, Kobach says the U.S. should work out an agreement that makes transferring money to Mexico more profitable.
Kobach also commented that it “is ridiculous” that we didn’t have a plan in place by 2017 to build a wall on the southern border.
