2 California state hospital patients with coronavirus die

COALINGA, Calif. (AP) — Two patients at a state mental hospital in Central California have died after becoming infected with the coronavirus. The Sacramento Bee says the deaths were reported in an email sent Monday to staff at the Department of State Hospitals-Coalinga. The email says one patient died Sunday after contracting COVID-19 while being treated outside of the hospital, and another patient died Monday at an outside hospital. The hospital treats people with mental disorders who are considered a danger to themselves or others - mostly sexually violent predators. Twenty-eight patients have tested positive for the virus.
