Mavs talk tough by adding protectors for young star Doncic

The Dallas Mavericks have protection for Luka Doncic in mind as they continue to build their roster around the young European sensation. The first trip to the playoffs in four years for Dallas ended with a first-round loss that left questions about whether opposing players were intentionally trying to hurt Doncic. The Mavericks responded by trading for James Johnson and his black belt in karate and using the No. 18 overall pick in the draft on Josh Green, a strong defender from Arizona. Dallas traded its best 3-point shooter to Philadelphia for another defense-first player in Josh Richardson.
