HOUSTON (AP) — Houston shortstop Carlos Correa is open to signing a long-term contract instead of becoming a free agent after this season. But if the Astros want to sign him, they'll need to do it before opening day because he doesn't want to negotiate during the season. The 26-year-old All-Star hit six home runs in 13 postseason games last year. Correa has spent his entire career with the Astros after they selected him with the first overall pick in the 2012 draft. He is a career .276 hitter with 107 homers in six major league seasons.
