Weir wins first senior title when Daly goes in the water

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (AP) — Former Masters champion Mike Weir is a winner on the PGA Tour Champions, with help from John Daly. They were tied for the lead in the Insperity Invitational when Daly hit into the water on the final hole and made double bogey. Weir was playing in the group behind him and watched it all unfold. He hit a solid shot about 15 feet behind the hole and two-putted for a 68 and a two-shot victory. Daly was runner-up with Tim Petrovic and David Toms. The tournament was reduced to 36 holes because of rain.
