Counterterrorism chief resigns over Iran War

The director of the National Counterterrorism Center has resigned, saying he “cannot in good conscience” support the Trump administration’s war in Iran. Joe Kent said Iran posed “no imminent threat” to the United States and claimed the conflict was driven by pressure from Israel. President Donald Trump has pushed back on that claim, offering differing explanations for the strikes. Kent, who was confirmed last year, led the agency responsible for analyzing and detecting terrorist threats.
