One talented group of Christian musicians sang a track about having complete and total faith in Jesus Christ.

Faith and trust are essential components needed to follow Jesus Christ. The Lord will place a calling on hearts at times and only give a direction, not the end result. However, starting out on the path, when what lies ahead is unknown, following through will require a fair amount of faith. 

In their song “Captain,” Hillsong UNITED sings about giving Christ complete and total control of their life. Whatever He wants for their life is what they are going to do. They are going with His direction and guidance for their life. 

Jesus Christ is their captain!

The first verse beautifully tells of their devotion and reliance upon Christ. The musicians sing that they are committed to following Him even when there's uncertainty about what’s next, even when it means going “straight into the dark.”

The song’s chorus continues to detail their complete faith, trust in and commitment to Christ. It adds that God’s Word will basically become a “lamp to my feet and a light unto my path.” The Bible will be their blueprint for their lives.

“Your Word
Will align my voyage
And remind me where I’ve been
And where I am going”

In the second verse, the singers point out that during the “fear and fog” of life, Christ will act as a compass. During those times, His guidance will put the ship back on the correct path. He will be the steady and ever-present captain ready to right the ship.

Life will inevitably throw hurts, struggles and heartaches in our direction. But Christ, our captain, has promised He will never leave or forsake us. The captain will never abandon the vessel. 

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.”

Cody Carnes is a three-time Grammy-nominated worship leader, and he is back with new, live-recorded music. He released this song titled ‘Who Is This Man,’ and it is the first track of his upcoming live album.

“I’m so excited to announce another live album, starting with this first song, ‘Who Is This Man,'” shared Cody Carnes. “This song makes me cry every time I hear it. This live moment is so full of the presence of God. Every lyric of this song points to Jesus. The lyrics are inspired by the disciples being constantly amazed at Jesus and the miracles that followed that they would ask, ‘who is this man?’ I pray this song leads you to Jesus as you listen and worship along with us.”

The song and music video was recorded at The Belonging Co., which is Cody’s church base. The singer is currently wrapping up the “West Coast Blessing Tour” with his wife Kari Jobe, and Martin Smith, and this summer, he will be on the Worship Together Nights Tour. As for his new, live album, which will be released later this year.
